Looks like a Blue Fescue (Festuca glauca). If there are any within 100' of it, that's what I'd say it is.

Definitely a keeper and great that it seeds so freely. It must have traveled quite a ways since there are a lot of xeriscapes around here, but we're the only yard that ventures beyond fountain grass and Mexican Feather grass.

If it's F. glauca, it seeds very very freely. I regularly pull thousands a year, keeping only the bluest and those with unique features like finer blades, etc.. I also regularly watch Sparrows munching on the seed, so that's another method of transportation for the seed.

Wish I had that problem. It's a lot slower going around here and what is termed invasive elsewhere is generally welcome here.

It may have come from commercial landscapes up the road. Anyway I plan to have a small patch of lawn in the front eventually and this looks like a good low maintenance option.
