I've never had very good luck transplanting pumpkins. Sorry

i transplanted some gourds last night of course they are only about 12 inches tall and havent started running yet. I just put the ina nd gave them some water and they were perky this morning so why not try!

we tried it yesterday - the roots weren't really that long.. and this morning all seemed normal - thanks!

Best bet is to dig up as much soil at the basal crown as you can and transfer the plant as carefully as possible. Replant and water good every other day til it seems to be settled in. Its also a good idea to place a shovel full of soil at each leaf stalk -vine connection. This will promote additional rooting. beware, the leaves may turn yellow from root injury if you dig roughly or sever too many roots.

I recently gave away my spare Atlantic Giant plant, which was about 25 ft. long! We carefully forked the root junctions and eased it section by section onto a large tarp, then put it in a pickup bed. Last I knew, the transplant was successful! Good Luck!
