It's a really sturdy plant so I think that you could just plant it where you want it to go. If it's got roots, you don't need any planting hormones. Just make sure the roots are covered. And moisten it until it takes hold.

For edging, cut a v-shaped wedge into the soil maybe 3 inches wide around the area you've planted. Do not add anything organic to that cut area that would encourage the roots to travel there. Pachysandra can be quite invasive. Each spring recut the wedge. Maureen
