Anyone wanna do a seed swap??

Please say yes! If we do a swap by mail we would just have to pay for postage, but I don't think it'd be too much. I think it would be fun if we could get a few to participate. We can work out the details in this thread if anyone's interested. Maybe we can email each other if you don't want to blast your name and address on here. Or is there a way to private message?

I would love to! Being a beginner I do not have lots but it would be cool. I did buy seeds on line, and they cameo in a first class letter so the postage is just that for 10/20 seeds. E mail may be best for those interested...hope we get bites...

Yaaay slim! I saved a ridiculous amount of seeds last year... about 2.5 quart bags full! I just mixed it all up, but I would keep them separate for our seed swap.

    What about this?

Or were you thinking strictly squash and pumpkins? There IS a message system, so you don't have to post private info on here.

What sort of seeds can be traded? Just edible squash/pumpkins or decorative gourds and pumpkins as well? And how exactly would this work (as in, who is trading with whom)?

i think that the jist was to swap seeds that we see here on this forum, such as i liked Carol12's cushaw. The seed swap forum looks wonderful, i am very new here and did not see the forum just for seeds....and i say all and any seeds. eatable or not...i am for what ever is in want.

    slim!!!

I didn't know there was a seed swap forum. I'll check that out. I didn't have any specific details in mind... just wanted to get suggestions for how it could work if you all were interested. How about this?

If you have seeds to share, write a post telling us what you have and how much. Then interested people can request. Maybe we can send 6 or 8 seeds per request? Then make sure your seed envelope is marked with the name and year. Share as little or much as you want. Some may not have anything to share and that's okay by me.

I was thinking any and all pumpkin, gourds and squash are fair game!

I'm growing a Dill's Atlantic Giant and if it turns out be a real good specimen, I'd be happy to share the genetic wealth around via mail. That could be fun. Message me if anyone is interested.

Bruvyman, how is the giant atlantic coming along? If you'd care to post a pic, it would be fun to see - theres a thread on here called pumpkin check in with people posting their photos

I would if I didn't garden at a community garden and had more space. I am afraid most of my seeds would be mutts lol. But I look forward to seeing the pics next year :)

I just found this and would love to participate if you all swap. My pumpkins were pretty common- big max, lumina, and howden, and I had some squash.

If you like long squash seeds, send me an email, I will give you my address, so you can mail me the self-addressed stamped envelope(SASE) preferred with bubble, then I can mail long squash seeds to you. No pickle worms, no insects control, no chemicalfertilizer, I always used urine 10 to 1 diluted with water for fertilizer, It grew very well. The plant is easy to grow and is almost free from disease and insect attacks.
