Can you suggest a grass or groundcover that grows only 2-3" or can tolerate being cut that short? The area where's it's desired is sunny, hot, and sometimes dry. Other plants in the bed include two dwarf spruce and petunias (right now) although the petunia's need to be regularly watered or they wither. The spruce have been pruned to look like bonsai because they were badly damaged by mites(?) and I've placed a ceramic pagoda found at a yard sale under one of them. I need a low growing grass or groundcover to give the bed the look of a plateau or mountaintop. The bed has some rocks in it - once I find a good grass or groundcover, I'll probably add more rocks and stones. Of course, the petunias are only temporary.
