While it is an alpine plant, like most species that originate from New Zealand, it will not be happy with extended periods of subfreezing temperatures. 20F is typically reported as a minimum. Excellent drainage is even more critical - wet winter soils like we experience in much of the Pacific Northwest can be deadly.

Let us know how it does for you. It was supposedly very drought tolerant, but I tried to plant one in the summer and it crisped up and died immediately. So next time I bought a ground cover in summer, I divided it into a bunch of pieces and potted them up, then got to plant all of them out in fall. I'll see how they do in spring (dwarf lamb's ear).

live in Norcal. anyone have experience with this ground cover in this zone. I just planted in my garden but it gets hot here. wondering if I should move it to the shade.
