Sandy, I use Das Pronto which can be painted. You can adhere it to the gourd itself or, after it is dried, glue it to the gourd. I glue it on when it is something heavy being put on the gourd. I just made a snowman and made arms that were sticking up in the air giving a "halleluah" look. I glued these on. If I were filling in around pitcher handles I would put the clay on the gourd and let air dry. It depends on what the clay is used for. Das Pronto comes in white and terra cotta color.

Hi Nonnie,
I seem to be going back and forth here between Modelling Clay and Mini Jigsaw blades.
I would love to try using the clay you suggested I'm just not sure I will find it in Ontario. I'd love to try a pitcher so I will be serching for it.
I'd love to see your snowman.
