WELL, My M. Gracillimus has finally completely engulfed my nice stand of Northern Sea Oats and I'm going to have to move them. I am thinking of moving them to a lower spot in the same bed, which could use a bit of height and interesting texture that the Oats will supply. the question I have is two fold...

1.) Since this area is in the lowest spot in my yard, it tends to stay damp. I think Sea Oats will tolerate wetish conditions, but has anyone had experiance in this ?

2.) Should I move them now, or wait until spring when they show new growth ? I believe they come up before the warm season grasses, so maybe I should take advantage of the nice weekend we are suppsod to have to move them.

Here's a photo from early August and you can see just how the Gracillimus has started to take over the Sea Oats, which are to the left of the "Monster"... they are completely hidden now:

Any thoughts or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. By the way, the daylilies are getting moved "outward" this weekend as well...

Anyone heard from Jake lately ?? Maybe the "perennial wacko" has him held hostage somewhere....or maybe he's just enjoying a 'freshment...
