Help did I pick too soon

We planted lots of gourds...the decorative yellow/orange and green striped..I don't know their names. But we picked them all before the stems were dry. Now from reading I think we were supposed to wait. Is there anything I can do to salvage them for drying??????HELP...I guess I am still a city girl but trying.
