PFG overwintering is iffy in zones warmer than yours (like my zone!). You should consider it an annual. The bad news is you must replace the plant each season. The good news is these plants will put on a good show for you anyway despite the short growing season.

If this plant doesn't overwinter and you can't find seeds in the spring, where does it come from???? Is it only available to professional g/h growers? Can I put the pot in my g/h which I keep just above freezing?

Dotty, that will work. I have overwintered PFG 3 or 4 years now. We bring the pots into a lightly heated garage. The garage has west facing garage door windows. We water about every 10-14 days and cut them back in the spring like other grasses.

I don't have room for them in the GH right now, but I thought about bringing them out into the GH the first of March to see if I could get them going a little earlier this year. (Probably won't have any more room then either!) - SB
