Sounds like you need to do a seed-ectomy.
Cut the base of the gourd in half, scoop out the seeds and pulp(gourd guts), separate the seeds from the pulp, then spread the seeds on a newspaper and let dry. You might need to stir the seeds in a couple of days to turn them. Let them dry several days, then put them in a plastic bag or container, label it and put it in the freezer.
