Don't go away mad!!
Most of the gourd folks are probably busy harvesting their gourds, and just don't have time to check the forum just now.
Feel free to search the forum yourself for your answers. You'll find there are several opinions as to how to dry all kinds of gourds. My own recommendation is to leave them on wood pallets out behind the barn or garage. Check them every month and make sure they are still solid. Throw away any gourds that have gone soft and rotted. Keep in mind that a good coating of mold is part of the curing process.
Don't get in any hurry, this could take several months. When you pick up your gourd and it feels hollow and you can hear seeds rattle, it is dry.

Let us know how things are going and give us a chance... there are several very helpful gourd-folk who visit here. We just aren't here all the time.

Okay, Thanks for getting back to me. I have min. here. my father-in-law had a stroke the 19th, and we have been going to and back every other day or so, so mom won't be alone with dad all day long at the hospital.

Hello,

I live in mid michigan about 25 miles west of Lansing. I grow
Swan gourds and bottle gourds. I always dry them in our pole
barn on old screens or pallets. It will take several months
depending on what type growing season we had. Some of mine
are already dried, and that has never happened before. Sorry
to hear the troubles with father-in-law. I lost my father in law in June. We are helping mother in law a lot since he passed. Thoughts are with you this holiday season. Good luck with your gourds. I would be glad to help you with any questions you may have.
