I cut an arc shape near the top of a canteen gourd which went very well. Inside, the gourd is very moldy looking and some of it is actually black in colour. I've tried scraping it out but of course I can't reach it all. Would it be harmful to leave it since it will be hanging on a wall inside the house? Maybe I should try spraying the area I can see with Varathane. Any suggestions out there?
