If they're still in Bluestone's small pots, I'd pot them up to 1-gallon nursery pots, and leave them outside, well watered, until the weather starts getting really cold. They should go dormant in the pots. Then move them to the "somewhat heated garage." They don't need much light during dormancy, and if you water them a few times through their confinement, and then put them back outside in late winter - early spring, they should do ok. Plant them in late spring. You just want to avoid letting the potting mix freeze.
