Pink pumpkin

This variety was grown locally as Upper ground sweet potato
It was origanally pear shaped and now most are now completly round
Is there a way to tell if it is a Moschata or another type
The seed have a dark margin on their edge
Most of the winter squash grown around here are of Choctaw-Creek origin

    Here is a shot of the top of one I just picked
    I note that they have 5 roundish nodules where the stem is attached,if that means anything

    I just picked these and about two dozen green ones cantaloupe size becaus of the heavy freeze due tonight
    When I had geese,I feed them to them
    Is there anything you can do with the green ones
