Yes, you can probably get the seeds to germinate, but the chances of getting 'Aureola' cultivars is slim. They don't need cold strat, and I'd suggest sowing individual seeds, instead of clumps. This way, if you get some color-marked babies, you'll have them isolated from the species seedlings.

IMHO, the best way to sow them is to wait for April, and start them outside, in containers covered with clear plastic, to maintain good humidity. After they germimnate, pot them up and grow them on in partial shade through the summer. Then plant them out in late summer.

Has anyone ever collected viable seed from this cultivar?? Or even know someone who has?? I have tried seed heads from this several times and always - no luck
I have also had zero luck with the species. Wonder if it produces few to nil viable seeds
