In my zone 9b all my eggplants are producing well and they do take the heat well.

I am going to show you the varieties planted also if they are in containers or raised bed.

Orlando, the cutest, prolific and good tasting variety I have now. I have been eating almost daily from this one, in container.

On your eggplant did you add fertilizer? are they in ground or in a container? They do like water like a tomato.

I've got the Black Beauty in a 4x4 raised bed (along with the Ichiban, some peppers, some peas to replace my heat-demolished tomatoes, and various herbs). Until recently, I was watering pretty much every other day - though not especially more than the bed generally. We've been getting considerable rain in the last two weeks here in Miami (more than two inches per week, and at least some rain every day), so I haven't been watering. I applied some fertilizer (Vigoro all-purpose vegetable and tomato) about three weeks ago to the entire bed.

All of the plants in the bed (including the eggplants) are growing vigorously, and all of the peppers (and the Ichiban) are setting. I've only been trying to hand pollen for about a week now - but it gives me hope that you're having success despite the heat/humidity.

Alan, try to put bloom booster fertilizer, mix with water. I had last year an eggplant through the whole summer growing huge and putting out a lot of eggplants, if I did not take it out it would be still around.
