Another Newbie With Questions

Hi, I just got a deal on some two-year Orientalis plants. For me to plant them into the hard clay soil here, the soil has to be reworked first. My plan was to put them out in my big outdoor planters which have ivy, lamium, euphonymus, and cabbages in them now and them plant them out in the spring.

All the plants here are woodland acid lovers and the worked soil, as well as the outside planters, are very rich in peat moss, leaf mold, and other acid-loving organics.

Questions: Will two-year old plants be ok in outside planters (large plastic) intil Spring? If so, will they be happy with the soil mix or should they be in a separate planter with a different mix? When planted out, what should I use specifically to amend the soil? What will they require in the way of water and food? (I think I killed one with overwatering in the past.) They are 2 years old now, so when will they start blooming?

Thanks for any help you can give.
