I am not sure what you are asking. Do you want to know which Heuchera/Heucherella would work for your lighting situation?

I love Hostas also but for interest and to add color and showcase the Hostas I am using the Heuchera mostly on the boarder because that area gets more sun. I have some pretty deep shade and the Hercs do not seem to do good with that much shade.

This is a pic of a deep shade area. It is hostas, Heuchera, ferns, and Bunnera Jack Frost. The yellow flower is a pot of a Calla Lily that I set out every year. I like it even before it blooms because it has beautiful large white spotted leaves. The hosta leaves cover the pot and it looks like it is planted in the garden.

Just make sure the soil is loose. I add some composted cow manure and sand to mine. They hate compacted soil. Hostas are a lot more forgiving in the soil department. Just be careful. They sre addictive...even more so than Hostas.

Redstone Falls is a trailing heucherella - plant it where it can cascade to show off its flowing form or use it in a hanging basket. Both Marmalade and Redstone will take a fair amount of sun but you might want to offer some protection during the hottest time of the day. And evenly moist soil :-)

Thank you everyone for your responses. Sorry if I seemed unclear in what I was asking. However you all gave me the answers I needed. :-). Just to make sure I've got it right . . . Both can take quite a bit of sun. Soil should be amended so that it is light and airy. Needs fairly consistent moisture and may need some shade in the hottest part of the day. Correct?

Well draining soil is important. They do not like wet feet!
If they dry out, they go crispy. Unlike with hosta, I don't have the experience that they'll droop first... mine have just gone crisy. And with some varieties (the purpler ones), it's hard to notice!
