I clean the pulp out of ripe tomatoes and put it in a jar with some water. Let it ferment a few days and pour the crud off the top. The good seed sinks to the bottom, keep adding water, shaking and rinsing till clean, I then put them on a piece of screening to dry before storing.

Yellow Pear are actually one of our oldest named varieties. They've been documented to at least 1750.

In colonial days they were used primarily to make preserves. And they're still good for that purpose.

For seed saving with tomatoes just cut the tomatoe in half and squeeze the seeds and juice out onto a plate or plastic dish and let sit (covered) for a few days until a little mold develops on them. Then, wash the seeds thoroughly and dry. Save and plant next year
