This is great news, especially for Brighamia rockii, which appears to be less commom in culture than B. insignis. For several years I was giving out quite a bit of seed from my 10+ year old B. rockii. The plant was about 4 1/2 feet tall and flowered at least twice a year in most years. It was producing more seed than I could use and was giving it to local native plant growers. A couple of years ago, some critter stung the stem in a area that I did not notice and the upper third rotted. Even though I applied fungicide and took all measures possible to save it, eventually the entire plant died. One of the saddest chapters in my native Hawaiian plant growing career. Aloha
