Here in Puna, no noticeable difference between this winter and last. Plenty rain, plenty sun, temps. 60 at night 80 in the day.

Oh, how things have changed since this last post. La Nina has hit us with a vengance. Last night's local news mentioned it has been 39 straight days of hard rains all over the islands, with snow on the mountains, hail in Kona and on Maui, and of course the tragic damburst on Kauai. The sewers in Honolulu have burst and overflowed in the last few days, fouling the Ala Wai canal, tainting Waikiki beach, causing it's closure for the first time.
