Please save my Hibiscus

I just purchased a hibiscus, I don't know what kind it is but it has pink flowers (hope this helps). Anyway, I brought it home and planted it in a large clay container. The plant was grown as a tree with the leaves and flowers growing on top. When I brought it home it looked fine, but after one week the leaves have spots and are droopy, yellowing and dying. Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem? I really want to be able to save and grow the tree. Thanks for the help!
