The only Stromanthe I have is the Blue Ginger. It's a very hardy plant and requires no care from me! I remember reading that the Stromanthe does well in temperatures as low as the mid30's. I'm hoping you see new growth soon.

I live in Wahiawa, the Uplands of Oahu. The cool weather here is perfect for gardening. Check the Honolulu Advertiser and you'll see a news article about the Okinawa Cherry Blossom trees in our town. We've been having an unusually cool season and the blooms were incredible.
The town also has the island's only Botanical Garden in a rain forest. Wow, I sound like an ad for the Hawaii Visitors Bureau!

I live in Houston Texas and I have 5 of the Stromanthe tristar in our yard. They survived temps in the 20's which is unusual for us. It seems to be slow in coming back this spring, they were just planted last summer. Is this usual? Do they require any special food, I have fed them once this year with Miracle Grow.
