Is anyone raising Clivia in Hawaii? I am on Oahu and am interested. I also get to the big island regularly.

My primary interest is native plants, but I do bonsai and some orchids.

I am interested in trades or purchase.

I live on Oahu and have clivia plant that is now blooming. The flower stalk is very short, so it looks like the flowers are coming out of the fan. I think the flower stalk does not lengthen because the nights are not cool enough. So I put ice on the surface of the growing medium for a few nights now (although I also missed a few). The stalk has lengthened a bit, but I'm not sure that it would have happened anyway. Next time, I'm going to try the ice trick as soon as I see the buds.

I have some clivia and live in honoka'a, Big Island. I will gladly work out a trade.

Yes, I would be interested in trade for Clivia. What sort of plants are you looking for? I will be on the big island at Wailoloa from the 15th of July to the first of Sept.

anything unusual
