A lot of people have chickens here, I do as well, and use the droppings I collect from my coop, in my garden. Very high in nitrogen they say. I also found the best composting method for me. I take a four ft high piece of wire fence about 2 x 4 mesh, and form a circle about 5 feet in diameter. That means it was about a 16 ft long piece. It can be broken open easily when I want to do that. It gets plenty of air and it doesn't get any simpler. I put grass cuttings and shredded yard waste into the pile. I shred all my hedge cuttings less than 3/8 thick with the mower. I keep this compost pile in the back of my banana patch in the shade, so it never gets dried out. I add shredded newspapers to it to add carbon to get the whole thing going good. I layer it 3 inches newspapers, 3 inch green waste. It decomposes fast. And the worms find it in no time. When I break it open after a few months, you never saw so many wiggling worms. And the stuff that composted is the richest looking black gold you could want.

Rather than chickens, I have a bunny. I don't know what the stuff is rich in, but the area that my bunny poops in is FLOURISHING. Grass is easily 10X healthier than other areas in the garden. Banana peels for potassium, my roses love these. It would help to know what you are trying to grow...
