So I am having the worst time picking colors that flow from room to room. I really am drawn to jewel and fall tones and I want a cozy rich feel to my home. The problem is, I think I may either be making it too dark or not flow. So far I painted our 21 foot wall a dark chocolate brown. I was considering doing the other walls a beige, greige, taupe, or warm cream color.

I just don't know what will help the red transition to the living room with a darker accent wall, but yet have a lighter color that flows from the other walls in the living room to upstairs but doesn't clash with the fall hues I have chosen for the bedrooms on the second floor.

We are still remodeling so the floors will be a dark cherry red and we are hoping to add a built in bookcase framing the opening between the kitchen and the living room. That could be painted a light or dark color. The staircase wall will be removed and we will put actual posts and rails in. You can see down into the living room from the upstairs where the three bedrooms are and the bathroom are.

I don't have furniture yet and the style will be lots of textures, reclaimed woods, rubbed bronze, stone, linen, furs, knitted things, rustic, a little farmhouse, a little eclectic, with creams, chocolate browns brick reds, rust oranges, squash yellows, sage greens, and deep merlots. Any suggestions would be helpful, and so far the dining room is brick red, the guest bed is deep plum, the family room will be toasted squash color, the laundry room is putty grey (these are all down the hallway from the kitchen) the master bath is pumpkin orange, the master bedroom is brick red, the boys room will be brown, and the art room will be willow green.

I realize these are a lot of colors, but I am an artist and i adore color. I want the same feeling of fall, or fresh baked goods and cinnamon, warm knitted throws and a crackling fire, or candles on a winter evening. I love green, amber, turquoise, rust red, orange and brown
