Container question - Tomatoes

I'm getting ready to start seed for my tomatoes this weekend, and I'm excited for the upcoming season. I lost a good deal of my spring crop to various fungal diseases. So in addition to solarizing, I've decided to plant my tomatoes in containers along the outer perimeter of my raised beds, and run the plants up the other side of the trellis. This lets me give the soil a crop rotation, and hopefully I can avoid losing two consecutive crops. Or at least I can lose this one a different way, and savor the variety inherent in Florida gardening.

Anyway, I would greatly appreciate any suggestions for quick and E-Z container solutions for single tomato plants. I dimly recall someone describing just using paint buckets, but I have no idea how to prepare them so that they'll drain properly - or what growing medium works best for that type of container. If anyone has a link or suggestion for what I might try for the containers, I would be much obliged.

Alan
