I don't know about ferrets, but I know that one Hostafile contends that the pair of foxes who live near his house can eat 20 voles in one evening. I wonder how he knows that.

Ferrets are the third most common uncaged pet, after cats and dogs says this website. Unfortunately they are not legal in California and a few other places. If I lived somewhere else and had voles destroying my hostas, I'd get a pair of these cute little creatures and treat them to a tasty vole dinner.
