This was really weird...

This morning I was trying to get the dog back home from her wanderings, (five acres fenced but heavily wooded). So I took one of the squeekies that she always pulls out of her dog toys and was squeeking it, she usually comes running. Anyway, I was standing under a Crepe Myrtle, squeeking, and soon there were all these little birds up there, tweeting and looking at me, there were at least 6 different species of them and probably 20 or more birds in all. I started feeling like the woman in Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds". They finally settled down and flew away. The dog never came, come to find out she was way back at the back fence-line, there were 2 fawns on the other side of the fence stranded by their mom, (she was probably spooked by the dog.)

If you want to experience something REALLY weird, just take that squeaky-toy out in the woods on a moonless night, squeak for a minute or so, then turn on a flashlight and look around.
You'll probably call in a fox, coyote, bobcat, coon, owl, or God-knows-what!
I used to do a lot of predator calling back in the day, and I can tell you it's never a dull experience!

LOL! Brute, something tells me that if I'm freaked out by cute little tweetie-birds in broad daylight, what you are suggesting for me to try is not gonna happen! I live in the sticks and I'm sure that every critter you describe is within hearing distance. In fact, I've seen every one except for the coyote, but have been told they are around, too.
