WoW! That's cool.....where do you live?

    Southern Indiana

The cave is just to the left of this small water feature.
And just over this hill behind the house.

    Wow! That is cool!!!
Looks like you live in a beautiful area.
I'd love to have that in my backyard!

I just had to share a couple of pics of some ice formations in my area, not my backyard, but close by.

    Janet, beautiful area.

Our cave is one of the longest in Indiana, the national convention will tour this summer.

How are you that close to me and the land around me doesn't even come close to THINKING about looking as cool as yours? lol

I remember your yard pics from last year...just incredible...those conifers are to die for!

    COOL cave!!!!

I didn't know that the national convention road-tripped to southern indiana!

Janet, don't you work for the park service or something like that? Seems I remember that,
and photos of you standing before a falls before or am I very delusional today! :o)

Beautiful pics. and boy I envy you your place, Esther--"born for such a time as this?" :O)

    Ester, those are beautiful pics.
Were are you at in IN?
Southern, Middle, North. Just wondering about the caves.
    Very cool back yard.
If I put the ruby slippers on and click my heels together and wish for spring will it come! Oh dang 12" of snow tomorrow...what the heck was that groundhog thinking!
I guess I have to dream and look at my pics. :)

Sorry, I should have defined convention, spelunkers not hosta.

Southern In, if you search caves you will find ours named Bryant's Cave.

"Esther"--I like the choices of your name! ;o) I'm sure there's a "story" there,
and, I'm guessing they're not "pet" names!

Not "asking" for details--just having fun guessing! ;o)

Okay--some folks do name their pets unusual names--maybe it is after favorite pets!
Or, maybe a favorite Biblical character and a favorite gemstone? Hmmmmm--I give up!

Whatever--nice cave! Any bears or other kinds of "critters" living in it? :o)

Biblical names of my mother whose sisters all had biblical names.

We have found ancient artifacts, pistal, wooden drinking cup. The cave is very pristine, we only allow real cavers in the cave with proper equipment etc.

That's neat to know, about your mother's name and her sisters!!

So, nothing "wild" living in that cave, huh! :o) How far
back and down does it go?

I had to take a closer look at your cave picture.
At first I only thought it was about 2-3ft high. But after reading that people actually go in and explore, I can see what looks like a ladder and some other equipment way back inside?

Those stalagmites must be really tall. Maybe you can show us a picture with something there for size reference.

That would be so cool to have that in your backyard. How often do people come wanting to explore it?

As a former caver, I can appreciate that you have this cave in your back yard!!

And having crystalline stalagmites is not unheard-of but it is unusual. And very beautiful!! Wish I were there, right now, to do a little exploring!

Guess caving is still in my blood!

The entrance behind the house is about 4 ft tall by 6 ft wide, then back about 20 feet to a large round hole that looks like it was cut out but it wasn't, then down about 12 ft where you crawl about 20 ft then stand up in a fairly large room futher back is a small stream.

We have the endangered Indiana brown bats plus 2 other specie of bats and blind crawfish.

As I mentioned we don't allow anyone who isn't a true spelunker into the cave.

Thanks for the pictures. How neat to have a cave out back. Isn't nature great?
