Tomato questions...

I know there are a couple of experts on growing tomatoes in Florida hanging around this joint. I have a couple of questions.

1. Has anyone tried the Black Russian variety here with any success?

2. How to prepare seeds? I have the tomato pulped out and the seeds spread on a paper towel here in the house for the lower humidity. My dad suggests 2 week drying time, then 30 day dry chill time in the fridge before planting. Does this sound like what I need to do? If I go that route, am I going to be late for fall planting?

It sure is a tasty tomato - and the seeds are heirloom with provenance back to the early 1800's. It would be great to be successful growing them myself.

Thanks for any help,

Terri
