water roots?

OK, I have the last little teeny pieces of stem from the wayetti I murdered over Xmas in water, and they are forming roots. I had them in a little soil at first, but after reading thru posts here etc. I decided to put them in water for initial rooting. The little roots are about 1/4 inch long now, should I plant in soil now, or wait? I did see some references to "water roots" and am curious as to how you classify them. Are they a thicker root, versus a finer, more hairlike root w/ the very fine "fuzz" (which I understand is a good thing)on them? I would like to feel some kind of sense of accomplishment after killing this beautiful plant to start with!!

Thanx, JoAnne
