Help with hedychiums....

Hi everyone - I have several white butterfly gingers that are in the wrong spot in my garden - full sun all day long, and not a lot of moisture - except recently! - they're normally irrigated twice a week. They bloom, and are almost finished w/ their bloom cycle now. However, the leaves got a little 'fried', and some are dried. I'm going to move them to a spot that gets better shade in the afternoons, but I need help! I am at a loss as to WHEN to go about this - do I wait till all blooms are finished? Should I cut back the stalks now, and put them in their new 'home' while it's still warm? Or do i wait 'till spring? The 'bulbs' (corms? tubers?) have sort of morphed into one large kind of super bulb, but I can cut it. Any help and/ or advice is appreciated. I really want to keep them, as they did so well even in the hot all day sun. They've been in the ground for about 3 years now. THANKS !!! Sorry so long a post.
