Hoya colaura
I recently added a few new small growing Hoya species to my collection and I was intrigued by a species listed as Hoya colaura so I added it to the order as well. I am unsure if this is a valid name or not but I suspect not. The plant itself resembles Hoya obscura but it is more robust than my Hoya obscura which is not saying much because my Hoya obscura plant has never been very vigorous.
I have yet to take a photo of the cutting but the photos in the link are more telling in that you can see a more mature plant. The source of this Hoya was Paul Shirley and it looks like a species that was added to his collection in the last three years. I may have to email Mr. Shirley to ask if he has any collection data that might help me learn more about this Hoya.
So what do you think, Hoya obscura or another different but possibly closely related species.
Mike
