First Ruby-Throat of the Year

Saw this year's first hummingbird this past weekend, usually don't see the first one until sometime in March. There's plenty of Coral Honeysuckle and Bottle Brush blooming for them around. I live in Florida and posted this on the Florida Gardening Forum, then decided to post here, too.

Yay! Still some months before we see them here. Can't wait until my coral honeysuckle gets nice and big and full of flowers. Can't wait to see the hummers.

Actually having 7b winter but glad to hear of first sightings thats a good sign for the rest of us that may not any for a couple of months yet.

Hip, hip, hooray. I had a feeder up, and had a hummer feeding from Jan. 4 until Feb. 17th. He sipped every morning, but never hung around. I saw my first hummer yesterday, March 14th. He sipped, perched on a branch, and stayed a while. Today, he appeared at 8 am, perched, came again at 1 pm and 2 pm. I added another feeder today. I hope he stays and brings his friends, and I will add more feeders. He is so pretty, and I guess I will wake at dawn tomorrow to watch him. (sorry if this is a repeat, I think I deleted my first entry!)
