Yes Ron I was thinking the same thing. Been checking the map daily, but no one has had a sighting yet. I can barely stand the wait. We typically don't see a hummer in these parts til mid April, but just knowing these little jewels are on their way makes the long wait seem a bit more manageable. Sigh.

I just posted above...just saw one. The sun was right in my eyes so I just have to assume it was a rufous. I am so excited, haven't seen one in at least 35 years and just put the feeder up last weekend. Feeder is above some firebush that is almost ready to bloom. Don't know if it is one that overwintered here or is one starting the migration.

What a thrill! My husband and I spent all weekend watching the little fellow. It is definetly a ruby throat. You could set your clock by him....at the feeder every 15 minutes, rain or shine. Just hope he sticks around for awhile.
