I would love to see a black-chinned but that won't happen as long as I am living here in NY...beautiful picture

What a beauty. Thanks for sharing. I have lived in SE AL for the past 16 1/2 years and I think that the only thing besides a ruby throat that I have seen was one rufous.

Penny, you're right......since there is only one species, the Ruby Throated, of hummingbirds that visit EAST of the Mississippi,(excepting the Rufus), we get to see few others.

Although, a couple years ago, off the coast of Nova Scotia, an albatross was sighted...about a thousand miles north of where he should have been.
So...unless a hummer gets his radar confused, we settle for the one.
