yep it is and it weathered the "tornados" that rendered the subway usless this morning in brooklyn. i made the box myself. it takes the place of a removed air-conditioner.

I *love* that box you put in the siding of your house. What a fantastic idea. I also love your first hoya bloom---I'm still awating mine!

Tell me about that crazy weather! The Belt Parkway was closed, subways were shut down, I was stuck at the George Washington Bridge for 1.25 hours, and it took me almost 4 hours to drive to Connecticut!

But nice to see your hoyas tough it out. e-mail me, and I will meet up with you in bklyn one day and give you some more hoya cuttings to add to the "box".

thanks everyone. i was so happy to make a proper home for my hoyas and i can't stop staring at them throughout the day. my girlfriend is starting to think i'm loony. glad you're all appreciative of the box and my hoyas.

Pelican, I saw yr, Member Page & that you're looking for a Rope Hoya (H. compacta)? If still the case, you might try Plant King, downtown Brooklyn, on Laurence btwn Fulton & Willoughby Sts. (local Lawrence St. stop on the R train). They often have H compacta, several tri-color variegates (Krimson Prince & Krimson Queen) & once in a while some H. Polyneura (which I keep killing).

If you go there, pls. tell them Karen, the Hoya Nut sent you.

I am still looking, thanks i'll check it out. and certainly you can join in on the swap if and when. i just moved into a new apt. and am still trying to place all my hoyas in the right place. i have three bigger hoyas and i'm not sure what they are but they certainly don't fit in that window box.
