Veronika,

Thanks so much for the fabulous trade! You did an awesome job of potting the divisions up and labelling. It saved me so much time after I got home.

You are my favorite trader! I think we have the same taste in plants.

I will keep you in mind for Spring and will start potting stuff up for you that I did not bring yesterday. I got a few other new things at Mounts that are not quite big enough to share yet, one of which is a Blue Ginger (not really a ginger) and a Bamboo Ginger. I also have a few other things in the yard I did not bring that you might like.

    Cherie,
I feel exactly the same way about trading with you!!!
Thank you so much. I really loved the story about your begonia as well. It brought tears to my eyes, as I was really close to my grandma as well.
I also have bunch of other stuff that I will keep you in mind with divisions, as they will grow.
I have costus stenophyllus (bamboo costus) already, if that is what you have in mind. I do not have blue ginger. I also have variegated costus amazonicus, ( from you I have the speciocus, which I am extremely happy about). I have terrestrial philodendron gloriosum (which is one of my favorite plant), variegated psitacorum el tigre, criswick heliconia, she kong heliconia, alocasia sinuatis, ALOCASIA MACRORHIZA 'LUTEA', and bunch more rare plants. I also have lot of anthuriums, but will have to work out how to propagate them yet.
My son is sleeping, so I am off gardening.
Keep in touch, and any time your are in the area, please, stop by or come for our garden play date (which my husband and I decided to make it a annual thing). Still have to work out the timing better, as I don't want to take away from Ricky's.

    Veronika,
I will definitely keep an eye out for your next play date.

I also have some new stuff that is not big enough to divide yet, especially bromeliads. I recently attended the Bromeliad Extravaganza in Ft. Lauderdale and bought a lot of bromeliads. Since they are all new they have either really small pups or none yet. I'm sure I will be able to divide in the Spring. My favorite is a varigated pink pineapple.

I also have lots of Orchids, ornamental bananas, a lotus. Do you have an African Tulip tree? If not, if you want to try it, I will try and propogate some, very fast growing and a beautiful flowering tree.

    We will keep in touch!

    That sound really neat.
Since you are growing a lot of bromeliads, I have a question for you. Do you have higher number of mosquitos in your yard? I remember that you pool is not screened in, so you know what to do.
    Thanks Veronika
PS: I do not have african tulip tree, my rule is if it need full sun it needs to be edible. I have about 7 varieties of banana but all are edible.

OK, I think we all want to hear the Grandma-Begonia story, sweetie. Please share it with us!

    Cindy,
when Cherie gave me one of her plant "the begonia", there was this printed page in a zip lock bag with the story of her grandma and the gram begonia. It is really neat, but I will leave it up to Cherie if she wants to post it here.
