Rob & Barb, My camera is a Canon S5, a good little camera. On a 1 to 10 scale of complexity/bells & whistles/price, it's about a 3. It's a "point & shoot", so someone who knows absolutely nothing about photography can take good pictures. The camera was on a tripod about 5' from the feeder, and was manually focused on the port he'd been using most. Then I waited.

You have to anticipate their moves, they DON'T pose! In this pic, I was hoping he would turn toward me and flash his gorget, but this is what I got:

I was wondering when your first would arrive, nice shots. I also have the canon S5 but I usually just hold and shoot. My first hummer is most likely 3wks away yet.

Absolutely beautiful pictures-are these taken through a window? I have a less expensive Canon powershot camera that takes pretty good pics. I do not know much about taking pictures so I usually have the camera on auto, and I point and click.

Beautiful pictures. I need to upgrade my camera! I have a Canon SD600, and I take nice grandchildren and flower pictures, but my hummer pictures don't compare with yours!
