Hello! My favorite plant this year is my firecracker plant, which I have on the front porch in a retro, bright yellow pot -- from that new line Home Depot carries.
Oh, I love it! I bought it at the coolest specialty nursery ever in NE Florida --- I got a gigantic 3 gallon plant for $8.75. The specialty nursery in Fl was cheaper than the big-box stores in Ga....and way better!
The only sad thing about the plant is that the blooms fall off in the rain, when they're heavy -- a good percentage of them.
When my stalks are barren -- after getting & then losing their flowers -- Do I prune those barren stalks down, or leave them? Will they ever get new flowers again, or will new flowers come on new stalks only? Am I slowing the plant down by leaving those stalks there?
Do they stay or go?
Thanks!!
