The one called "Jacob Cline" seems to be a favorite. It is red - the flower looks like this:

It is also supposed to be resistant to powdery mildew (although mine got it anyway last summer - a bad summer for mildew).

I already told you that seeds for Jacob Cline are not available commercially.

I don't know which Monarda is best. I just planted "Gardenview Scarlet" last fall, and it will hopefully be blooming for the first time this summer. I will be sure to let everyone know if it does well and is attractive to the hummingbirds.

I am providing you with a link for Monarda seeds. I don't know if they are the best variety, but my guess is if they're seed grown, there will be some variability, and some will probably be attractive to the birds. If you google "monarda seeds" you will find lots of other sources.

I planted Raspberry Wine last summer because I couldn't find Jacob Cline. It bloomed over a long season and the hummingbirds loved it. It is gigantic now and should put on quite a show next month. This year I have added a Jacob Cline.

OOOPs - trying to be helpful..... These places offer plants, not seeds.. so sorry

I use bluestone perennials and I had a lot of sucess with them and they are not too expensive either. They do not have seeds though. My problem is I usually have to buy three plants and I just don't have the room for them all.
