They are amazing! You are phenomenally lucky. I'll be lucky if I can get any beauties to my balcony, let alone to nest.

sixeachlimb - I started getting them on my balcony (18th floor) 2 years ago. It is possible! You sortof have to put out some kind of red "beacon" to attract their attention, make them curious, and trigger their urge to investigate... and then wallop them with all sorts of yummy plants along with a feeder. LOL

Hi! Congrats on the nest. What type of hummies do you have? From the photo on your website they look like Rubythroats to me, but since that's all we have here in the East, I'm not good at IDs.

I have a cousin who lives in the Hollywood Hills, also. If I can remember the street he lives on, I'll let you know.

There's another hummingbird person you might want to compare pictures with: Frank J. I'll put a link below to the other forum many of us are on. He goes through something like 125-150 lbs. of sugar each season. Can't recall the name of his town (something like Mountain Center), but it's north of LA. hi LindaSkyview, I get several species here in the Hollywood Hills. Year roud there are Allens, Annas, Rufous, and now some black chins. In the summer the bright yellow and black western orioles use the hummer feeders as well. Thank's for sending Frank's link! my best, steviedon
