Yes and the bare root plants are high quality. You can order straight from the Plumerin website instead of Ebay and there is a larger selection. Use EMS shipping only or you will get very stressed cuttings and may loose them.

Hi Mike the reason I was asking is because when i got my box this morning it was empty and it had been confiscated by the goverenment....

    Hi Dalette,

Did your shipment have a phyto with it??? If not that is most likely why it was confiscated.. I had a Thai shipment that the exact same thing happened to. I got an empty box along with a piece of paperwork letting me know that the hoyas had been inspected and were found to be pest and disease free but were destroyed because the shipment did not have a phyto certificate with it.

Aw sad! They were infected with leaf spot. I've never had any dealings with Plumerin but their return policy seems clear.

    1. We offer replacement and 100% refund upon our claim approval.

    2) We will make every effort to replace any plant or resolve any problem. Please let us know immediately upon your plumeria receipt if there is problem.

If I were you, I would scan the mail interception notice and include it in an email to them letting them know what happened.

Dalette, I just went through my paperwork and found the documents from when I had an order from D.L. held up at customs. It was during April of 2008. I was the host for one of the spring orders that year and my shipment got held up in customs in L.A. The order was for over 400 + hoya cuttings and arrived in several boxes. They got opened and inspected and (SUPPOSEDLY) even after David Liddle treated them twice before leaving Australia, were found to have a been infected with phyllostica. I was given 3 options. Either ship the entire order back to Australia (not an option as the Ausie gov. would have had it destroyed upon entry at the dock),have it destroyed right there in LA or hire an independent broker at (MY) expense and have the shipment treated for the supposed disease for which they had already been treated.

I'm assuming that since unlawful entry was also listed as a reason, that you did not have an import permit accompanying the shipment. It's well worth the time it takes to go online at the APHIS website and apply for a permit if you intend on having plant material imported from a foreign country. It'll have all of your contact info on it so if ever there is a problem like this they will contact you with what your options are in regards to what should//can be done about your plants.

Los Angeles customs is the ABSOLUTE worst to deal with. I dread having anything come in on the west coast and having to go through LA customs because they'll destroy a box there if the stamp is put on it sideways.

I got a box of rooting cuttings from Plum in July that were in bad shape. One of 5 recovered, and he's replacing the other 4 this month. (I decided they probably "cooked" in the July heat and to ask him to wait until about now to replace them...) I was SO happy with my first (April) order. They arrived in great shape, took off growing quickly. So I'm hoping these will arrive in good shape because I look forward to ordering more next year...
