And what a pretty boy he is! You seem to have photographed him from above, looking down on the tops of his feet, and the top of the perch. Since perches are typically high, I couldn't help but wonder whether the perch is unusually low, or if you took the photo from an unusually high vantage point.

The view is from our breakfast nook, looking out the window toward the backyard. There is a basement walkout below that window so I am standing about 8 or 9 feet off the ground level. The branch he is on is about even with my knees, which would be about 10 feet off the ground and put my camera 2 or 3 feet above him. That perch is more often used by the bluebirds and the goldfinches but if it is unoccupied, this guy makes himself at home. I have seen him there at the edge of dark and I have seen him there at first light. Maybe he sleeps there sometimes.
