You sure do have plenty of hummers Steve! I am glad that they still like diluted nectar.

Actually I read somewhere that the sweeter the nectar mix the less times they drink per hour. It stated that they need a certain amount of sugar per hour and the lower the sugar in the water the more they need to drink. So I wonder if you would get even more activity now that your population is established if you lowered the ratio? Of course the artical also stated that if the mix is too thin and there is sweeter stuff next door that is where they will go. So I guess it is a balance.

Yes It appears the ratio you speak of on the need to drink is accurate. The ideal mix is somewhere betweet 1:3 and 1:4.
