Hi
I'm in PalmBeach county so experiences may be different but have found them to be an almost "ideal fruit tree"
Have forgotten the name of the cultivar planted in 01
but it is very sweet, bright yellow,has no disease or bug problems produces 3 crops a year which can hang on the tree for weeks. has been impervious to hurricanes, frost drought.
Only problems has been that the fruit is so heavy it breaks the limbs,produces more fruit then my entire neighborhood can eat.lol Though has been reduced by 50 percent 3 times this "DWARF" is pushing 25 feet in both directions. Find a variety that you really like because you will eat bushels of it lol.

I'll bet it would make good wine!!!lol The sugar content is so high you could get 180 proof lol. Ilove them in double crust pie with a bit of ginger and cinnamon. Have never found an easy way to peel them or to remove the seeds.. but both are edible anyway.
Noticed they bring a buck each for small bitter ones at the super market . At that rate I could get that villa on the French riviera lol. A neighbor purees them along with freezing sort of like apple sauce but it requires some Tequila to be really good lol.
