I live in Wisconsin, I noticed my RTH actually seem to have an orange gorget. But the adult males looks red. Is this normal? I held a feeder and could see the color very clearly.

Just an FYI that I have not had that many hummers until the juveniles flocked the feeders. I have 9 feeders out now, and they drain a few 8 ounce ones per night.

The color can appear to change, depending on how the light is hitting it. I've seen it orange, a brilliant ruby red, black, etc. The females and immatures will have a white throat although the immatures may have some additional markings. Very cool that you're seeing so many now -- we keep hoping our pair will bring in young soon. Enjoy!
