Alot of people in the midwest are noticing less hummers it seems to have something to do with the hurricanes last year. Sarah

I wish I knew where yours are, and mine also. This is bordering on absurd. I know they think it has something to do with the hurricanes but, I'm sure there has to be more to it than that. Must be time to move! Thinking of a home in the country by a stream (No Noisy or Nosey neighbors, Barking dogs, screaming yougens) surrounded by every tree, bush, flower known to attract hummers.

Birdlegs there is plenty of land my my area for sale. Come on down south and join me. I will even share the hummingibrds.

We are blessed with a retirement home in the country by a stream (No Noisy or Nosey neighbors, the only Barking dogs are mine, and the only screaming yougens are the grandkids when they visit) We're surrounded by plenty of blooms to attract the hummers - and they still went missing!

I'm in Middletown, PA and I am missing them too. It has been about a week since I have seen one. Lots of Lady in Red salvia is blooming and zinnias - both of which they like. Not sure what is up. Nothing at my two feeders either. It is downright discouraging since they will soon be migrating. I'd love having the same amount of activity as earlier in the summer but it just isn't happening ;-(

Charlotte I wish I could send you and birdlegs my hummingbirds I have so many more than I usually do When my neighbor came over this morning she couldn't believe her eyes there were at least six in the garden and two almost flew right into us. She was afraid they'd get hurt since they weren't looking where they were flying they just love to chase each other everywhere. Sarah

Oh Sarah I'm green with envy!!! This isn't fair that some of you have plenty and others of us are in a hummingbird drought! I'm not sure where you are in PA but send some of the little jewels to Middletown please. :-)

Just found this forum, been on the hosta forum. All of you who are missing hummers, they must have come up here to NE Wisconsin as we have twice as many hummers than in previous years! I have to fill my two feeders daily although, just received a beautiful feeder from my parents for our anniversary present today. Within five minutes of hanging it up, it had visitors! Our oriole feeder has also been in big use with both the hummers and orioles!

I took the feeders down to refill with fresh water. Since there were so few hummers I decided to put out one less feeder. Wouldn't you know it, as soon as I sat on the porch this morning 2 little guys buzzed me at the site of the missing feeder as if to say "what about us?". The thrid feeder was brought back out and the happy fellows sipped away all afternoon.

You see they are here even if we don't see them. Charlotte I'm just outside of Philadelphia you are more than welcome to come by and visit just e-mail me. I even went to cape may today to their hummingbird festival and I had more hummers than they did although I did see a nest there will post pictures tommorrow. Sarah

I was blaming the very cold winds and temps in April and May.I've only seen 3 so far this year.Miss them though.Come on back you're welcome.
